The Punjab School Education Department has issued a new notification dated 7th April 2025, introducing flexibility in the student dress code for both public and private schools across the province. This move aims to ensure the comfort and well-being of students during the extremely hot and cold months.
🏫 What’s New in the Student Dress Code?
To cope with weather-related challenges, the government has officially allowed students to deviate from the standard school uniform during specific time periods:
☀️ Summer Season (1st May to 15th September):
-
During the intense summer months, students will not be bound to wear school uniforms.
-
They are allowed to wear light, comfortable, home clothes instead of the regular uniform to stay cool and safe from heat-related issues.
❄️ Winter Season (1st December to 20th February):
-
In harsh winters, students are permitted to wear any type of warm clothing over the school uniform.
-
This includes sweaters, jackets, shawls, or any garment that provides warmth and protection from cold weather.
📌 Applicability:
These new guidelines are applicable to all public and private schools in Punjab.
The decision has been welcomed by parents, teachers, and students alike, as it prioritizes student health, flexibility, and comfort over strict uniform rules during weather extremes.
🗓️ Notification Date:
7th April 2025
