The Punjab School Education Department has opened the application window for mutual transfers among teachers for the year 2025. The facility of mutual transfer is offered to assist teachers in managing their postings, supporting personal or family needs. If you're a teacher looking to apply, it's essential to understand the criteria and the eligibility rules. The application window is from 7th April 2025 to 13th April 2025.
However, it's important to note that not all teachers are eligible to apply for mutual transfers. The department has recently clarified the list of teachers who cannot avail this opportunity. Let's explore the eligibility details and the official categories not eligible for mutual transfer.
Teachers Not Eligible for Mutual Transfer – Latest Policy Update
The following categories of teachers are not eligible for mutual transfer according to the updated policy issued by the Punjab Education Department:
-
Teachers Who Have Applied for LPR (Leave Preparatory to Retirement):
Teachers who have already applied for Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR) are not eligible for a mutual transfer. This is because such teachers are nearing retirement and therefore, their posting is considered a final assignment until retirement. -
Teachers Facing Disciplinary Action under PEEDA Act:
Any teacher who is under disciplinary action or inquiry under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline, and Accountability (PEEDA) Act will not be able to apply for mutual transfer. Teachers with ongoing investigations or disciplinary processes cannot avail of this facility. -
Teachers Awaiting Promotion to the Next Scale:
If a teacher’s promotion case is under process, they are not eligible to apply for a mutual transfer until their promotion has been finalized. This ensures that their position and role in the department are determined before a transfer can be considered. -
Teachers with Less Than One Year of Service Remaining Before Retirement:
Teachers who have less than one year remaining in their service before retirement are not eligible for mutual transfer. Since their tenure is almost complete, it is unlikely that a transfer will be beneficial or feasible. -
Teachers Who Have Already Availed Mutual Transfer Within the Last Two Years:
Teachers who have already been granted a mutual transfer within the last two years are also ineligible to apply for another one. The new rule mandates a two-year gap between mutual transfers to ensure fair distribution and avoid excessive mobility.
