The Punjab School Education Department has recently issued a clarification regarding mutual transfers among teachers. While mutual transfers are a facility provided to ease posting difficulties and support family needs, not all teachers are eligible to apply under this policy.

Below is the official list of categories not eligible for mutual transfer:
❌ Teachers Not Eligible for Mutual Transfer:

Teachers who have applied for LPR (Leave Preparatory to Retirement)
These individuals are approaching retirement and are therefore not allowed mutual transfers. -
Teachers facing disciplinary action under PEEDA Act
Any teacher under inquiry or disciplinary process cannot avail of mutual transfer. -
Teachers awaiting promotion to the next scale
Those whose promotion cases are under process are ineligible until the promotion is finalized. -
Teachers with less than one year of service remaining before retirement
Since their tenure is almost complete, mutual transfer is not applicable. -
Teachers who have already availed mutual transfer within the last two years
As per the updated rule, a two-year gap is mandatory between two mutual transfers.
